The orphanage Familia is situated outside of Calcutta surrounded by rice fields. Next to Familia Home there is a home for elderly people, a crèche and a school. We are supporting Familia with special purchases, for example with the lower-lying of their well, building of biogas installations, construction of classrooms or a generator for the school.

A few years ago The director of the orphanage, KC Thomas, founded this school. In this school the children are taught in English and the school has an excellent reputation. Even children from other neighbouring villages visit this school, paying school fees.

In the long run these school fees are supposed to pay for the orphanage so that financial help from abroad won`t be required any longer.
