Our work focuses on education, health and disability initiatives, as well as helping victims of human trafficking, e.g. child prostitution.
Anja Fischer is a teacher at Dante Gymnasium in Munich and volunteers as the head of the initiative in Germany. Once a year, she travels to Kolkata and reviews the projects together with Indian employees of the partner organisations. Independent auditor Kumar Ray works with Anja Fischer to monitor the finances in India.
Anja Fischer first met our namesake, Pradip, during her first visit to India almost 30 years ago. He was a cheerful but severely disabled orphan boy. Pradip fascinated the teacher with his zest for life so much that she later decided to name the fundraising initiative after him. He is a symbol for the many disenfranchised and helpless people in India who so desperately need our help.
The work in Germany is done on a purely voluntary basis. The flight to India and accommodation there are paid for privately.
